I Have a Concern About My Child’s Development
Do You Have Concerns About Your Child’s Development?
If your child is turning 3 years old and you have concerns about development, communication, learning, or behavior, Monomoy can help. You do not need a medical diagnosis or a referral from Early Intervention to begin this process.
What Happens Next
- Submit a Developmental Concern Form
- Developmental Screening is scheduled (this is conducted using the DIAL-4 screening tool; approximately 45 minutes; reviews communication, motor, and early learning skills)
- Team Review (screening results are reviewed by the Early Childhood Team; families are contacted to discuss next steps)
Possible Outcomes
- No concerns identified at this time
- Strategies to support skill development are recommended
- Referral for a special education evaluation
Important Information
- Screenings are scheduled throughout the school year
- This process is part of the district’s Child Find responsibility
- Screening does not automatically qualify your child for special education services
Families may contact the Early Childhood Office at any time with questions.
