Admissions
Integrated Preschool Admissions Overview
Admission to Monomoy's Integrated Preschool program occurs through different processes depending on a child’s needs. Please review the pathways below carefully.
Children With Suspected or Identified Disabilities
Children who may need special education services are considered for integrated preschool through the district’s Child Find process. A child may be referred if:
- You or a medical professional have concerns about your child’s development
- Your child currently or previously received Early Intervention services
- A developmental delay is suspected
If your child is found eligible for special education, placement decisions are made by an IEP Team based on individual needs.
Please see I Have a Concern About My Child's Development for more information.
Community Peers (Children Without Disabilities)
A limited number of peer placements may be available in integrated preschool classrooms. This number is based on the number of students with disabilities, according to Massachusetts regulations.
Peer placement:
- Is based on space availability
- Is not guaranteed
- May vary from year to year
Families interested in a peer placement must participate in the district’s Peer Interest & Screening process during the spring prior to the school year.
Please see Peer Interest Form for more information.
Important Notes
- Integrated preschool admission is not an open enrollment program
- Submitting interest forms does not guarantee placement
- Program structure, classroom locations, and number of peer openings may change throughout the year depending on the enrollment.
