Monomoy students compete at We the People competition
On Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, 22 Monomoy government students traveled to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate in Boston to participate in the state "We the People" speech competition. Student speeches were judged by volunteers from the fields of law, history, politics, education, journalism, government and non-profit organizations. Students presented 12 speeches in groups to panels of judges, and answered questions about the Constitution, civics, government and current events. Congratulations to all our students for their hard work, and especially to Unit 5 members for winning a unit award for their presentations: Hannah Mitchell, Robbie Sieger, Molly McKenna and Caroline Davock. Caroline Davock was also presented with an award, voted on by her classmates and teacher, for civic virtue, humility, and dedication to her class.
