Monomoy High Principal Bill Burkhead honored by Bridgewater Alumni Association

BIll Burkhead honored by BSA Alumni Bill Burkhead, Principal of Monomoy Regional High School, has been honored by the Bridgewater Alumni Association with the 2018 Nicholas P. Tillinghast Award for Achievement in the Field of Education. An annual tradition, the Bridgewater Alumni Association presents awards to distinguished alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the university -- people who have made an impact in their community through their work or service to others. The Nicholas P. Tillinghast Award for Achievement in the Field of Education was named to honor the university’s first president (then called “headmaster”). The award is presented to an alumnus who has demonstrated the qualities of outstanding leadership, excellence in performance, and outstanding personal achievement in the field of public education at the state, regional, or national level.
Earlier this year, Burkhead was named the 2018 High School Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association. He received the Tillinghast Award during a special ceremony at the Bridgewater State University Alumni Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
