MRHS students place second in statewide video contest

MRHS students place second in statewide video contest The Massachusetts Department of Transportation recently held a statewide high school video contest called Safe Streets Smart Trips. Monomoy Regional High School students Jason Morrison and Jack Fernandes placed second in the state among all submissions. The students were recognized for their second-place video on November 1 at MassDOT’s annual Moving Together Conference, held at the Boston Park Plaza. The winning videos were shown during the luncheon portion of the conference, with the winners called to the stage to accept their awards from MassDOT Secretary and CEO Stephanie Pollack and FMCB and MassDOT Board Director Monica Tibbits-Nutt. The MRHS video department is directed by teacher Steve Cass, who leads TV and video production classes, guides students in creating and producing the daily video announcements, and produces special video projects for the district.
