May 9, 2023 — Chatham Elementary School grade 4 teacher Cindy Macomber was recently honored by the New Pedagogies for Deeper Learning Global Partnership. Macomber was named a Teacher of Distinction for 2023 at the organization's annual conference in April.
The goal of NPDL is to work alongside educators to change the role of teachers to that of activators of learning who design learning experiences that build on learner strengths and needs, create new knowledge using real-life problem solving, and help all students identify their talents, purpose and passion.
Macomber was honored for her work incorporating deeper learning into her classroom lessons and activities. Chatham Elementary School has been a part of a global Deeper Learning consortium for the past three years, and was a member of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Kaleidoscope Collective cohort.
