Monomoy Regional High School to hold virtual theatrical performance of Alice in Wonderland

While traditional theater has been rendered temporarily impossible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Monomoy Regional High School Theater Department was determined to press on. With creativity and ingenuity, the team devised an innovative plan to hold a virtual performance of Alice in Wonderland, with the rehearsals and planning done both in person and remotely.

Led by MRHS teachers Rose Richard, Rachel Barnes, and Amanda Koslowski, the group held informational meetings and auditions via video conference over the winter. Once casting was complete, the teachers and students began to prepare and rehearse. Some students would rehearse from the school building, while some were remote, rehearsing from their homes and connected with each other via technology.

The Alice in Wonderland cast includes: Ciara Farris, Emily Blake, Brienna Notaro, Phoebe Gill, Caitlin Bouvier, Lauren Morris, Libby Anderson, Bella Cohrs, Chloe Eldredge, Sophia Cohrs, Dahlia Viprino, and Alexis Arruda.

The show contains music, and additional vocal pieces are being composed by Junior Phoebe Gill. The production will be live streamed March 18, 19, and 20 at 7 p.m. each day, and the public is encouraged to attend virtually. Additional details, including the link to access tickets to the performances, can be found at www.monomoy.edu or by clicking here. Tickets are free with an option of making a donation to the Monomoy Regional High School Friends of The Arts.
