Monomoy Regional School District names Abby Dudley as new middle school assistant principal

Monomoy Regional School District has named Abby Dudley to be the assistant principal at the district’s middle school, filling the position vacated by Adam O’Shea when he was named MRMS Principal.

The interview committee reviewed numerous strong applicants and unanimously chose Dudley, a Massachusetts native who comes to Monomoy from a middle school in Oregon, where she served as the special education coordinator and most recently as dean of students. In her time as dean, she supported the school through moves to more restorative approaches to discipline and trauma informed teaching.

The interview committee was impressed with Dudley’s personable approach and her passion for education. She captured the committee’s interest and attention with her examples of how she has fostered positive change with students and staff. In 2018, Dudley completed her Doctorate in Education at the University of Portland on the link between culturally responsive teaching practices and disproportionality in special education.

Dudley will join the MRMS team in late July.
