Monomoy names Sean Dutch as new middle school principal

Monomoy Regional School District has named Sean Dutch, Ed.D., to be the next principal of Monomoy Regional Middle School. Dr. Dutch has been the Monomoy Middle School Assistant Principal since July 2023, and has been serving as the Interim Principal since July 2026.

This appointment was made following an extensive search, screening, and interview process. A screening committee composed of parents and caregivers, teachers and staff, administrators, and community members reviewed applications, interviewed candidates, and recommended candidates to move forward in the process. Meet-and-greet sessions were held with the three finalists, during which students, families, community members, teachers, and staff were invited to learn more about each finalist and share their feedback. 

The feedback from the interviews and meet-and-greet sessions showed broad support for naming Dr. Dutch the next middle school principal. As the current Assistant Principal of Monomoy Middle School, Dr. Dutch is well-known and respected by Monomoy families and staff alike. Based on the feedback and individual interviews, Monomoy Superintendent Dr. Robin A. Millen extended an offer to Dr. Dutch, which he accepted.

“Throughout this process, it became clear that Dr. Dutch was the right choice to lead Monomoy Middle School,” said Millen. “In reviewing feedback from the screening committee and from meet-and-greet attendees, he was described as being passionate, student-focused, approachable, responsive, and dedicated. I am confident he will not only continue the great work being done at Monomoy Middle School, but will lead the school community to even greater heights.”

Dr. Dutch holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of New England, a master’s degree in Special Education from Endicott College, and a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration from Saint John’s University. Prior to coming to Monomoy, he was a Special Education Teacher at Brockton High School. 

Effective September 3, 2026, Dr. Dutch will transition from Interim Principal to Principal.
