Monomoy Regional School District announces the hiring of two administrative team members, Director of Food Services and Curriculum Director for 5-12 STEM.

Michael Noks has been named as Monomoy’s Director of Food Services. Noks joins the district after a long and varied career in hospitality and food services. He is a graduate of the Hotel Management School Maastricht and Hotelschool Wageningen in The Netherlands.

“Michael brings extensive culinary experience to the district, including managing restaurants and cuisine operations for cruise lines, and he is focused on the experience of our students. I look forward to the innovation he will bring to our school cafeterias,” said Michael MacMillan, MRSD Business Manager.

Kristen Callahan has been named as Monomoy’s Curriculum Director for 5-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Callahan is an experienced educator, who joins MRSD from Nauset Regional School District, where she was the Director of Technology Integration. Prior to that role, she has served as a science teacher and department head, Director of Technology, Innovation, and Education, and was a lacrosse coach and summer program director in other districts in Massachusetts and South Carolina. She earned a bachelor's degree in geology and environmental science from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.

“With a strong background as a classroom teacher, as well as leadership roles, her commitment to high-quality instruction, and experience in her own online business, Kristen brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Curriculum Director for 5-12 STEM, supporting our educators and students,” said Robin Millen, Monomoy’s Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

For each of these positions, search committees composed of teachers, staff, and administrators reviewed applications and participated in the interview process. After follow-up interviews, lesson reviews, and reference checks, each of them were offered the positions by Superintendent Dr. Scott Carpenter, and accepted. Noks and Callahan will begin their new positions in Monomoy on July 1, 2024.
