Monomoy announces Amanda Rice as new middle school Assistant Principal

Monomoy Regional School District has announced the hiring of Amanda Rice as the new Assistant Principal at Monomoy Regional Middle School. She will fill the position previously held by Dr. Sean Dutch, who was named Principal earlier this month.

Rice has been a special education teacher at Monomoy Middle School since 2016. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Bridgewater State University, a master’s degree in Teaching from American International College, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from American International College. Rice has served as Monomoy Middle School’s Interim Assistant Principal since August 2026.

“Amanda has been a valued member of our team for years, and I’m excited to see her leadership skills continue to develop in this new role,” said Principal Sean Dutch. “I know she will continue to do a great job for our staff, our students, and our community.”

A committee made up of faculty, staff, and administrators reviewed the applications and participated in the interviews. After a thorough search and interview process, the committee put forward finalists for the role. Following final interviews and reference checks, Rice was offered and accepted the position of Assistant Principal.

“After a decade as part of the Monomoy Middle School faculty, Amanda has a strong understanding of and dedication to middle school students and their families. This expertise and connections will ensure her success as our community’s next middle school Assistant Principal,” said Superintendent Robin A. Millen, Ed.D. “We look forward to seeing her grow in this new role.”

Rice assumed her new position at Monomoy Middle School as of September 29, 2026.
