Community invited to meet Monomoy Superintendent finalists

With the upcoming retirement of current Monomoy Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Scott Carpenter at the end of this school year, the Monomoy Regional School Committee’s Superintendent Screening Committee has been meeting regularly over the past two months to review applications, select candidates to interview, interview candidates, and select finalists. 

The three finalists will be announced at the School Committee’s December 11, 2025, meeting. The school committee utilized public input in the initial stages of the process in identifying the characteristics for the district's next superintendent, through surveys, focus groups, and forums. Staff, students, families, and community members will have an additional opportunity to be a part of the process on December 15 and December 16, when they will be able to meet the finalists for the superintendent position. 

The meet and greet sessions with finalists will be held as part of site visits to Monomoy Regional School District, where each finalist will tour the district’s schools and have opportunities to meet with staff, students, families, and community members. On Monday, December 15, 2025, two finalists will visit Monomoy on a staggered schedule, and on Tuesday, December 16, a third finalist will visit the district. The Monomoy Regional School Committee will interview the three finalists on Wednesday, December 17. Those interviews will be live streamed for the public to view.

The schedule for Superintendent finalists meet and greet sessions is as follows:

• December 15, 2025 – Candidate 1 and Candidate 2 will visit MRSD
  • Student Meet and Greets will be held during the school day
  • Candidate 1 
    • 3:30 p.m. Staff Meet and Greet (HES Activity Room)
    • 6 p.m. Community Meet and Greet (MRHS Library)
  • Candidate 2
    • 4:30 p.m. Staff Meet and Greet (HES Activity Room)
    • 7 p.m. Community Meet and Greet (MRHS Library)
• December 16, 2025 – Candidate 3 will visit MRSD
  • Student Meet and Greets will be held during the school day
  • Candidate 3
    • 3:30 p.m. Staff Meet and Greet (HES Activity Room)
    • 6 p.m. Community Meet and Greet (MRHS Library)

Selecting a new Superintendent is an important decision for the Monomoy community, and the School Committee appreciates the participation of a wide range of voices in the process.
