Monomoy Regional Middle School Renovation Project

Thank you to voters for support of roof project MAy 2026
Monomoy Regional Middle School front

Monomoy Regional School District is embarking on a critically needed restoration project at Monomoy Middle School. The current cedar shingle siding, installed in 1997, has degraded,  allowing moisture penetration. A more durable siding needs to be  installed on the entire building. We have investigated options that  will have a longer lifespan, require less maintenance, and insure
against moisture damage . The project will be done in two phases: Phase 1 will include all the siding and replacement of all the windows, and Phase 2 will include the replacement of the school’s roof. With the exception of some of the roof sections replaced in 2018 after significant storm damage, the majority of the middle school roof was installed in 1997 and other sections were installed in 1991, now far past useful lifespan. MRSD was accepted into the MSBA Accelerated Repair Project program for partial reimbursement of the roofing project. The siding project is not eligible for this repair program reimbursement. Read more about the MSBA and Roofing project here.
