Mr. Gordon Napier - Music/Band

"The Band Guy"

Learning and laughing is the name of the game. Music is everywhere and is meant to be entertaining, informative and educational.

I have attained 2 Bachelor's degrees, Music Education and Music Perfomance, and a Master's degree in Music Performance on Trombone. (All from UMASS)

I was lucky enough to have spent 9 years as a "professional singer/entertainer" prior to becoming a Public School Teacher 17 years ago.

I'm also the Golf coach here at MRMS. And a Master "Striper finder". :-)

Thank you for the opportunity to teach your children.

  • On Monday evening , the 16th of  September from 6-8 PM you are invited to come to our Middle School Cafeteria and rent a Band instrument for your musically motivated and talented children.

Choices are Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion kits (snare drum and xylophone)

I ask that you also purchase a music stand and a method book. Mr. Paul Weller from Music and Arts will be there to make sure your children get everything they need to get started. You'll also meet Ms. Amanda Kosloski who will be teaching your 5th grade "rookie" throughout the year on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the morning from 7:30 - 8:30 in our "Band for rookies club". I will be "graduating" them into the grade 5 Band as they progress to the level neccesary to participate in the Band. I will also be giving them pointers when they are in my 5th grade general music class. Band meets on days 1,3 and 5.

Thank you for your interest and support.
