Mrs. Mary Hemeon - Math
I graduated from Keuka College in 1984 with a B.A. in Mathematics, and I began teaching at Harwich High School in September of 1984 after moving to the Cape from Vermont. My husband, Chris, and I live in Harwich with our rescue dog, Romeo. We have three grown children; Michelle, Amy, and Matthew, and two grandchildren; Emma and Caden. I love mathematics, teaching, and working with students in a variety of settings. In 2014 I earned an SEI endorsement, and in 2016 I earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching Mathematics from Fitchburg State University and continue to take courses to further my professional development. In 2019, I successfully completed a graduate certificate program in The Impact of Trauma on Learning with the Lesley University Institute for Trauma Sensitivity and am now a certified trauma teacher. I have been actively involved with the College Board and the AP Calculus program since 2008 and currently teach a two-year loop of AP Pre Calculus and AP Calculus (AB) to juniors and seniors.
