Ms. Ashleigh Bennett - English

Ms. Bennett is a high school ELA teacher at Monomoy Regional High School. Prior to teaching at Monomoy she was an ELA teacher at Sandwich High School, which is also where she grew up. Ms. Bennett graduated with honors and a degree in journalism from the Commonwealth Honors College at UMass Amherst and selected for their TAPS program for English. After graduation she taught English in Italy, and upon her return worked as a newspaper reporter for The Wareham Courier and photojournalist for Cape Cod Magazine and Cape Cod Life. She transitioned to working on creative services for a qualitative research firm, where she wrote reports and conducted interviews with people from all walks of life to learn more about what makes them tick. Realizing her passion was for writing, and not so much the corporate realm, she co-authored "Ocean State History on Tap" published by The History Press and transitioned into teaching. Currently she is getting her masters at Bridgewater State University. She lives with her husband, son, two cats, and her dog. She enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, Crossfit, and reading.
