Professional Development

At Monomoy Regional School District, we strongly believe that our teachers should be supported in their growth as educators. We offer a robust program of Professional Development in a variety of formats. 

Conference Requests and Course Reimbursement

In order to attend a Professional Development opportunity, you must submit a request for by logging into your Vector Solutions account (Teachpoint) and completing the online forms, as well as submitting your absence. Click here for more information and instructions.

Learning from Teachers Across the State

  • Campuses Without Walls - Allows teachers to connect with other teachers and classrooms outside their districts and schools by collaborating on a curricular unit. CWW was developed in partnership with Boston Public Schools and consists of courses led by licensed Massachusetts teachers. It is free to partner teachers with the aim of improving educational equity by breaking down barriers between schools.  

Options for 15 PDP ELL Requirement for Licensure:

  • Annual Course offered in-district at no cost to teachers 
  • Free WIDA courses sponsored by DESE - These are a mix of self-paced courses, synchronous webinars, and face-to-face meetings, etc. to meet different learning needs.
  • MRSD Sheltered English Immersion "Refresher" Course - Description:  This course provides teachers who work with English language learners with knowledge and skills needed to effectively shelter content instruction for students. The course examines strategies for lesson preparation and delivery. 
    Time: 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17 (3:45-6:45 p.m.)
    PDPs: 15 PDPs awarded upon successful completion of course;  these PDPs can be used for recertification purposes

MRSD was awarded a grant that allows the district to offset the cost of a newly, awarded ESL certification and/or a newly passed ESL MTEL up to $150/faculty member.  Certification and/or MTEL must be awarded and/or passed within the FY25 school year.

  • Request for reimbursement for costs related to ESL certification and/or ESL MTEL reimbursement should be submitted on Vector PD Platform to member's administrator by June 15, 2025, using the "Course Reimbursement" form.
  • Member must pay the cost upfront, and upon proof of certification award and/or passing score must submit proof to Central Office for reimbursement.
  • This opportunity is open to all unit members, and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, up to $150/member, until all grant funds are expended.
