English Development Learners

English Development Education Program at Monomoy

The Monomoy Regional School District offers a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) program at each of our four schools. Each school is staffed with an appropriate number of English Development Education (EDE) staff to meet the needs of the English learners in that building and no building has less than one full-time ESL teacher.

Additionally, Monomoy has worked to ensure that all core academic teachers have received their SEI endorsement and a large number of non-core academic teachers have received this endorsement as well. Through highly qualified EDE teachers along with classroom teachers that have the skills and knowledge to help English learners access content as they are learning a new language, Monomoy seeks to support each student in their school success.

Should any student, parent or caregiver not feel that the English learner program at Monomoy is meeting the needs of the student, we strongly encourage you to reach out to the classroom teacher, EDE teacher, school principal, or EL Director at any time. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our program, and your input is invaluable.
