Volunteer/Visitor Guidelines
Visitors and volunteers related to the school curricular activities must be pre-approved to enter the school. All visitors are required to sign in at the main office and wear a visitor badge while they are in the school. Visitors wishing to observe or volunteer in a classroom must make arrangements with the classroom teacher and/or principal prior to the visit. All volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI check. Depending on circumstance, mentors/chaperones may need to have fingerprints completed and sent to the district office. Please call the district central office for more information and required code.

Harwich Elementary School Council
The Harwich Elementary School Council consists of representatives from parents, students, faculty and the community who have specific responsibilities under the Education Reform Act of 1993. School Council members are elected each year. The School Council will meet monthly under the direction of the Principal.

Harwich Elementary School PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)
Harwich Elementary School has an active PTO and this dynamic group of parents has provided the school with outstanding educational, social, and recreational opportunities. The PTO sponsors annual activities and is a fundraising organization for much of the enrichment activity at the school. The PTO volunteers assist with planning the events and raising funds for them. Please consider becoming active in our PTO as a way to be of service to your school and ultimately, to your child.

Fourth Grade Student Ambassadors
Fourth grade students are nominated by their class or teacher each month and complete a community service project. The Student Ambassadors embody the diverse, inclusive monthly themes such as, Kindness, Creativity, Respect, Sportsmanship, etc. All fourth grade students will have the opportunity to serve as a Student Ambassador for one month.
